UKAHFT Decide to cater for only southern shooters

The “United Kingdoms” premier hft shooting league have decided not to hold any competitions anywhere other than the southern parts of England and feedback on this from shooters in the north of England and indeed Scotland has been poor. Apart from one round in Harrogate at the national shooting show all the venues are hard to reach for more notherly shooters with long drives and hotel stays being the norm for those willing to take part.

Some of the comments from their announcement on their Facebook account are below

Uhhh… All down south and many double headers..Need to count everything carefully but I doubt I can do whole series this season because of distance .

ATM it looks more like South EnglandAHFT than UKAHFT..

The lads in the North of England and Scotland are going to be at a serious disadvantage , with all the travelling and expense of hotels . Seriously weighted towards shooters in the South .

further down south don’t see how it’s UKAHFT ya could leave the UK bit out

So much for getting new shooters into competitive HFT. There are many UKAHFT affiliated clubs including a lot of Scottish clubs who could easily host a shoot but have never ever had one. They really should think about dropping that “UK” bit from their title.

Plus.. 7 scores to count? That’s a lot of travelling and a lot of money for shooters who don’t live in the South of England.
