10 years of AGG memories
10 years today 15th Jan we started airgungurus. It’s been fun.
We have been taken to court by Facebook (we lost)
We were threatened with court action for giving a pellet manufacturer a bad review (we won)
We were given death threats by exposing scammers. no one bothered
Most of all we have had fun and built up a great community of helpful fun people and had a blast doing it. Thank you being a part of it.
We have learned a few things along the way. We have learned not to do any April fools jokes after causing carnage. We posted a spoof link announcing the winners of a daystate huntsman but put in a FB link to the winner and that link redirected people to the winner of the competition. When you clicked on it it took you to your OWN FB profile. It didn’t go down well and really confused Daystate when people phoned them saying they had won. Only two death threats from that one.
We have raised over £4000 for charities including Strathcarron hospital. Cancer research, and mental health charities and foodbank and our charity shoot at Cloybank and the AGG meets have without doubt been the best fun days out we have ever been to. We have given way over £3000 worth of small prizes and a few bigger prizes kindly donated by people and our livestreams were a blast. Our Christmas 2016 magazine has had 1.4 million views so that’s nice too.
Some of our group members have passed away and their families have all asked they be kept on the group. This has been a source of sadness for us but also a great honour. Our airgungurus awards have went to fully deserving people and we only do one a year.
Most of all though is that we have brought at least some shooters together and we have made many real life friends.
Thank you for being part of your airgungurus.
